martnmagik 68
many moons ago i had a kit that would drop to the floor like a rock when i went to the hutch to take her out. at first with me being new to ferrets i thought she was just rolling over for a belly tickle then it dawned on me with the strange breathing she did while like this that it wasnt normal and went to the vets who ran tests costing mum and dad a fortune and was told it was a sudden overdose of adrenaline causing muscles to spasm. and she died shortly after but other than this i have never heard of anything like it. draper hill 0
i had a similar problem to this over the last 2 years with 3 different ferrets, all 3 died in the end, most likey cause is something in the genes, best way to deal with it is to breed with another ferret that is completley unrelated which should dilute the problem.if you want pm me and i can give you a more detailed breakdown,my other half is a vetrinary nurse and one of the vets has helped me a lot!!!
