DogMagic 461
First of all i would say be happy that the dog is catching them! At the end of the day our sport and enjoyment is to watch the actuall course, to see predator and prey evenly matched and running hard. The longear doing its best and using all the tricks in the book to get away and the dog reading the longear, predicting what way its going to jink next and being ready for it. To see the dog youve brought on from a pup and taught and nurtured mature into a fully fledged lurcher catch its longear fills you with a pride no anti will ever understand. Equally no anti could ever understand our being pleased to see the longear get away neither! You got to see the course AND you got to see your dog catch AND you got to see the longear get away. Win win win. And then you got to see ANOTHER course! Win again. Of course it would of been nice to be able to take the catch home with you for dinner or maybe just for the ferrets but never mind. Im guessing its a young, inexperienced dog? If thats the case dont worry, it will learn to kill them soon enough. Also after a good course the dog was probably to knackered to kill straight away. He pinned it and was getting his breath back. Another 30 seconds or so and he would probably of squeezed the chest and stopped the struggling. Another longear got up and he couldnt resist so off he went leaving the first one to make the most of the opportunity to fook off! Lol! Just give him time and experience and im sure he will come good. 3 Quote Link to post
