id put money on it snoopdog giving all your pups droppers as you put it will have nothing to do with wether your dog yips or not.

ive never used that method and only had one that yipped and she,s over it.

i put it down age and just being keen nothing to do with confidence.

the trouble is with some folks on these sites they read to many f*****g books and listen to folk bullshiting ..get out there with your young dog and learn it somthing ..iam not on a bout taking it lamping and sliping it till it drops ..iam talking about your dog learning somthing to many bullshitters doing things by the book ....and let me tell you this every dog is different just like people ....the only way to learn is in the field ......not making it sit for twelve months basic traing is important ...but so is learning about what they are bread to do...cheers have a nice day ...ps get that dog a dropper before it ends up sqealing for the rest of its life..good luck.. ;)

you could be right mucker that it might not make a difference wether it yips screams yaps or whatever..but i have seen other peoples dogs yip yap ..and we have done this method and its worked .if you catch them young enough ...like brock says dropper then lay it of for awhile... ;) thats the way i have always done it why should i change my method ...or bet some money that it wont yap if i dont give it adropper ....its not worth the risk and like i say everybody to there own ...all the best mate iam glad your dog stopped yiping ...cheers snoop.. ;)

i usaly take mines out when young with trained dog on rabbit fencing etc as they cant hit there runs as quick or ferreted rabbits on good open land late summer when there plenty three qaurter growing rabbs ,the dropper method is easier but i still think ,when they get on a strong rabb or hare etc if there going to sing thye will ,and if you molly cudle them to much theyll never get there the best dogs, ive had done it on there own accord , iv eonly had one sqeeler a young bitch but with exitment not lack of pace etc just to difficult qaurry for her at the time all the best, i would use any method to stop them singing like ole yeller if i had one and only pup, but ive got a few adult workers so if they dont make it, pet home, all the best to you and your pup

Cheers for the replies guys they been a big help.

Hopefully after a bit of obedience and a summer with no work for her to forget about the incident things might make them selves right.

If not a dropper will have to be on the cards just to get her confidence up.

Cheers

EDIT to say if I was to give her a dropper when would be the best time to give her one should I do it now or leave it a few months so she forgets her incodent.

Its funny my younger whippet who is nearly ten month has never yelped/yapped behind quarry but has done it a few time when chasing my other older whippet. I have only heard my older whippet of 12 months yelp/yapp when chasing a hare. He has never done it with a rabbit so i'm quessing it is frustration as he couldn't gain on the hare easily like he would with the rabbit.
