willygun 0
The salmon fishing season has come to an end on most irish rivers and by all acounts it is one to forget. The dry summer months and low water levels didnt help the run of salmon particulary the rivers Suir and Nore, the usual big run of fish that these rivers are accustomed to just didnt materelise. We heard of large numbers of salmon gathering in the estuary waiting to make their journey up river but all we got was odd fish here and there. Still some fiseries were reporting great fishing with large catches week after week when other beats were strugling. All we can hope for now is a big flood on the systems so as what ever fish are there can make it up safely to the spawning beds. Tight lines to every body fishing rivers whose season hasn't come to an end yet. Quote Link to post
mudd dog 128
The lads up here said the same. water levels far too low and fishing generally bad. A few salmon were caught but not anywhere near the usual limits. My friends were out Saturday that was the last of the season. Quote Link to post
