appleblossom 703 Posted September 12, 2011 Report Share Posted September 12, 2011 Janet,many thanks to you and your hard working committe and judges for a most enjoyable day yesterday at the Sporting Whippet Clubs last show of the year at Dunsilly. The food was exquisite,the craic and banter was hilarious, and the company and sportsmanship was a 100%. Graham & Lynn Meek you done a great job on the barbeque,a long with Collette Gannon and Michelle Rafferty helping Janet Duke and the rest of her committe out. It was great, I had to make no tea yesterday evening. The wine was flowing and every mouthful tasted nicer.Also thanks to Chantelle Mc Meekin and Patsy Mc Coy for slipping my dog for me. You are both stars.I must thank Mickey Quinn also and his son Michael for collecting me at the house with my Whippet " Riley" and also leaving me back home last night,as my husband John was working yesterday and could not attend the show. A big thank you Mickey and Michael,you were real gentlemen yesterday and took good care of an old lady. I also had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Sheamus Irwin at the show. Sheamus arrived to present the Sporting Whippet club NI with the Mid Antrim Working Terrier ,Lurcher & Whippet Club Perputal Cup , in recognition of the support the Whippet people gave to their shows past and present. Many thanks Sheamus for your thoughtfulness, it was much appreciated. Nikki Irwin went on to take this beautiful cup, by winning the Champion of Champions at the show. Many congratulations Nikki, a very worthy winner. Bluebell was there and took many photographs on the day. I am sure she will put them up shortly.Many thanks Deidre. It was nice to meet up with old and new friends, and also tinged with a little sadness, as it will be 6 months to we all meet up again. Hopefully now if work does not get in the way,John and myself will visit Mr Reynard and the bunnies on our farm in Monaghan.Happy hunting everybody and please God we will meet again at Dunsilly in the brighter days of the new year.
