Permissions

Recommended Posts

Hi guys have been busy knocking on doors in Aylesford Kent for my first permission, was told by afew people that they have arrangements with people and was wondering if anyone here is local to me so i dont step on other people patch.

Would be good to hear from anyone as guidance is also needed for advice for getting a permission round here.

Persistence is your best way forward old mate. With a few weapons in your arsenal of persuaders!

When you approach a landowner of potential permission, present yourself with a bit of smartness and integrity. You don't need a suit and tie! But what you need to do is display a sense of decency and responsibility. Tell him/her that you are very respectful of boundaries, properties and the gamebirds like pheasant and partridge you are simply after pests like rat and rabbit. If you have shooting insurance, so much the better.

Use a bit of psychology. Use of the word RAT is a powerful persuader that you are the man for the job with a lot of people.

NEVER, EVER put Grey Squirrels on the list of your intended targets. It's the kiss of death.

What are tree-rats and vermin to us, are Cute-Cuddly sweetie things to a lot of ladies like daughters and the very young of mrs Landowner you are apt to find and they'll ban you for life at the merest hint you'll be shooting them! Unless they are specifically refered to you for shooting, keep them off the menu.

Best of luck.
