halamrose 24
I've been quiet on here for the last few months while training to run a Marathon. After some years of creeping around in camouflage, trying to keep hidden and treading as softly as I can, I've been surprised by how close to 'nature' I have got. Picture this, I was running noisily though long dry grass, wearing a bright blue shirt, carrying a sloshing water bottle and puffing like a good un' - I passed within 25 yds UP WIND of 2 deer and all they did was watch me! Other times I've got so close to the odd rabbit or two and had both an owl and a red kite gliding beside me. The only thing I've not had a close encounter with so far that I would have expected to see is a fox - but maybe its just they know I'm quicker on my feet than they are LOL. So forget all your stealthy sneeking around, get some high viz and klomp about a bit up wind and see if it works for you. Or nip down to www.justgiving.com/halam-rose and sponsor me in aid of The Alzheimers Association - the Marathon is in Nottingham in just over a week -11 Sept. Good hunting, Halam Quote Link to post
