12v, 17.2Ah Battery charging question

I have a genesis NP18-12R 12V, 17.2Ah battery for my pigeon magnet how long do I need to charge it for?

 

I was planning to charge it for 8 hours, to long or longer?

when your batery charger says done its done failing that what amp charge you puting in would help give a rough idea

I have recently asked the same question regarding my new 18AH battery on another forum and was told to use the following formula , as it depends on your battery charger.

 

18AH divided by 500ma = 36 hours.

It's not that simple, but close enough

 

Ideally you would use a 3 or 4 stage intelligent charger that has a variable charge.

Thanks for the reply, just checked and my charger tells me in four stages how much its charged.
