tote 870
My mate Jimmy got some new ground last week,it's only two fields but there is plenty of rabbits there. We lamped it with the air rifle on wednesday and got eight. Today we had a go with the ferrets at the insistance of the landowner who wanted to come along aswell. Well Jimmy,Tam and I met the landowner and his pal in the fields at 8am.We chose to do the open field buries to start with,we got what we expected, young rabbits and a few lay ups. It was hard going,by 10.30am we had 3 big rabbits and 4 wee ones[the landowner wanted them dead] That's when I had to leave as my son plays football every sunday morning. As luck would have it thats when the rain started, and it got quite heavy. So although I didn't get wet ferreting I did watching the football. The lads kept going untill 2pm,one of the bankings they done had a hawthorn hedge and a fence running on top and up the side of it, very hard to net up,they couldn't get at all the holes.Anyway they ended up with 9 big and 13 wee rabbits and a good soaking as well.
