Anywhere there is waterways of any kind you will always have mink about.I find the smaller little trout streams the best for traping them,especially if there is also wild fowl nesting on the stream. Mink will lie up nearly anywhere,land drain pipe being there favourite imo,once bolted one while ferreting,saw another up in an ivy tree while out shooting,last time it was seen up there,lol.If there is a big rock or low wall at a bridge on a river or stream thats where you will usually see signs of mink activity,bones of fish or small birds where they have been feasting on them,thats where you set your traps. I had one come screaming at me out of a ditch one evening out rabbiting,only that I had a shell in the gun the little b--tard would have had me. They sure can cover the ground quickly.
