ftm 3,357
well lads /lasses i was up at my keeper mates the other night and a local farmer popped in to tell him he had just finished cutting a field and a few cubs had been present,so the big gun came out of the cabinet and into the 4x4 we went .the keeper had an idea where these cubs were likely to be so he set up in the far corner of the field and started calling for a fox .nothing appeared for more than an hour and then! a scrawny little cub came through the hedge and sat tight no ammount of calling would make it come in, then out the corner of my eye i spotted another [cub?] with what i thought was a bit of cloth or something in its mouth but on looking through the scopes it was a bloody duck in its mouth the keeper handed me the rifle and said do the buissiness so bipod set and breathing steadied i put the cub? in the scopes and pulled the trigger ,well i nearly shat my pants with the noise but the smile on the keepers face said it all i had been sucessful in my shot.i wanted to run down to my kill but a hand across my chest meant something was happening the other cub had moved towards the dead one the keeper took the rifle off me and dropped it at 150 yds .wow im liking this i think to myself . nothing else showed so we went over to the kills and the cub? with the duck was actually the vixen to the other cub it was tiny so 2 foxes and a bonus duck was my introduction to the big gun .i cant wait to have another go tho Quote Link to post
