nastybilly 55
anyone ever watched a doe trying to steal another does kid? ....i seen two adult does running eachother ragged lastnite, at first i thought it might be a yearling doe come back to join its mother again but when me and a mate watched them and i could see more clearly when i glassed them they were both adults and a one kid running with them it probly went on for round about half an hour and then we lost them, i think they lay down in a huge thresh bed and we moved on and left them to it ..whats your thoughts .. i think maybe one had lost her kid and was trying to nick the others Quote Link to post
john robbo 30
Never seen it as obvious as this but nothing is impossible with roe. They suprise me all the time, one reason I love em so much I think. The thing is would the kid go with the other doe even if she drove mum off?? I doubt it as the bond is very strong. nastybilly 55
i doubt it myself john i think if its mam was killed or something the chances of a kid even being fosterd would be a chance in a million im not even sure if i was right in saying this it was just a possiblilty that had crossed my mind when i seen it, iv never seen it before myself but like you say they always surprize you...iv seen cattle do it and even if they have there own calf try and bully a calf from another cow. we get it here year on year ..thanks for your reply john Quote Link to post
