Linconshire mate ;) They are so big that its hard to be spoted and they have much better things to do than spend to many resources policeing the ban. If someone reports you then they will check it out but i doubt they will fly around looking for coursing taking place ;) Just dont go mob handed and you should be fine ;)

i hear alot of people talk about the fens. now i just want to no where it is.

is there only one place called the fens or is there more than one.

and how come all the coursing boys love them if they are so well known for coursing surly there but be old bill about.

The fens just has fair it of hype up about it. As regards location Head out to south lincs and North Cambs and as soon as you get bored of the scenary you are in the fens. Flat as a pancake only less interesting. The whole place is criss-crossed with dykes. Fen hares are no better than others. The ditches and smallish fields mean you don't get the smae courses as with trhe big firlds of other parts. But then with the fens being f*****g flat you get to see it all. Unless the fen blow is on then all you see is a pissing black cloud.

Parts of the fens are pretty remote and so police aren't always an issue. Though they are cracking down on it, well so Iam told. :censored:

There isnt allways loads of hares, the main reason so many people run on them is because they are so flat and open, you can see the whole course. Iv hered of people walking all day to get half a dozen runs. They are so big that its hard for coursing alone to wipe out the hare population, or even significantly decreas the population. The fens are also a good place to test a dogs staying power, courses can go on for a long time before the hare has chance to get into cover. In small enclosed fields runs are over in seconds, its hard to see how well the dog can really stay, hence the need for the big open flat land.

but surly if that many people go there there cant be that much game.

but i never been.

id like to

They don't, the fens are huge and pretty desolate at times. Though depends where you go. It is huge salad and veggie growing area of country and those boys REALLy don't like hares so shoot em where they can. But if there is one thing they like less than a hare munching on young icebergs, it is a dog coursing across the maicured fields. So you have to pick your spots.

Oh the fens is also a massive turf producing part of the world, so some of your courses will be on what are basically manicured lawns, which is a bit surreal - unless of course you have a f****n huge garden.
