hoosier 58
Ive read a few places where it was said that back in the day, the glen and wheaten could be found in the same litter? I'm curious when the offshoot of the two breeds occured? Was it from job description or area that was worked? Thanks Quote Link to post
pointer28 1
Can't say for definite but I very much doubt it. The Glen of Imaal terrier is a short legged, long backed, heavy built dog originally bred to hunt badgers. Whereas the Wheaten is a long legged terrier, completely different to the Glen apart from colour. The Wheaten is a very popular breed in Ireland to put over a Greyhound to breed a very tough and game lurcher ideal for foxes. I couldn't imagine anyone crossing a Glen with a Greyhound. As always, I'm open to contradiction, but thats my take on it. Quote Link to post

hoosier 58
Thanks for the replies. Nice posts stabs. Been doing research on glens in the united states. Thinking about getting one and trying it out. I hear even show bred glens still retain some fire. Quote Link to post
