Seeing the sights....

Recommended Posts

Well we set out making our way through scotland, and down through dumfries, and down the M6 to meet a friend of my neighbours, the bikes were singing down the M6 and the sun was beating down,

having stopped and been robbed in the little chef, we made our reservations in carlisle, rather than tour all over as it was fairly central to what we wanted to see, we headed on down to preston to pick up a bike

that someone had bought who lived in carlisle, And a strange thing poped into my head of de ja vous if you could call it that,

two years before i had heard of this place, but little did i think i'd ever be in it and with my bike... we didn't stop long and i didn't have the camera with me but i rememer a fountain with a statue of a man in it,

i think he was a foot baller...!!!

up to carlisle again, and we were done in.... so dinner and we made for our beds although i didn't sleep well :( the night passed quickly and we were of to hartside pass for the first part of saturday,

toured duram, and over a few more passes, the weather was good and the twisty roads made for exciting touring, and the scenery was stunning along the way....

we ended up in a little town called penrith i think it was, a stunning little market town which was so busy, and bustleing with life, then we heaed of up through the roads and through appleby, just as well

it was'nt a week before or the roar of our exhausts would of made for exciting viewing of the horses....lol

we got changed and picked up by taxi and went into carlisle to a chinese called shanghi shanghi, for an all you can eat buffet... the food was to die for, and needless to say we had

to squeeze into our gear the next morning.....lol worth checking out if your ever in carlisle... :)

the next morning saw us heading down through ulverston into the lake district, and around windamer, stopping for a bit to eat, and hitting the road into north yorkshire, more stunning scenery,

we stopped to see the devils bridge viaduct, and on down into a little town of which the name escapes me, passing thorugh so many little towns it was impossible to take in all their names,

i can recommend the scone and clotted cream with jam.... in one little town as well as the home made icecream....lol

with nearly 1000 miles up the long weekend had come to an end, and we were homeward bound...

scotland and cumbria been my fav places along the way...... :)
