savage .17 hmr

hi, been after a 17 hmr looked at cz and annie and was torn between them but swayed towards annie. well got a call last nite of a good mate that his mate was selling a savage 17 hmr which has had 300 rounds through it, s/s t/h laminated with browning 3x9x50 scope, mod, cleaning kit and afew rounds. 450 quid. well i,ve just bought it,too late now but what are these rifles like, looks sweat as. stav

Had mine for six months now. Zeroed in at 50m, can't miss (baby bunnies) up to 100m. Drop off only 2.5 inch at 150m so head shots still possible. Better off with more magnification (x10 plus) on a mil-dot scope to help with windage as it is affected significantly at the longer ranges. Use 17grn rounds rather than 20grn. Lovely solid and reliable gun. The only issue is the magazine. A bit awkward at first but you get used to it. Prepare to enjoy.
