for hard night lamping,and handle all weather i would say lurcher to lurcher with drop of collie in the mix. Size 23-25in 50lb would be spot on for the lamping dog, you can have bigger or smaller, but the above would be hard to beat.

i would think a lurcher mix would be hardy type because ya rabbits dogs still take knocks,not saying whippets car,nt take knock just think lurcherx is better suited
