Resting a springer

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Bit of a novice's question this. I know that it best not to rest a springer on any hard surface while shooting (such as fence post), but what about if the airrifle rests on the hand, and the hand on the post. Would this still cause the same problems?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Accurately shooting a spring rifle all comes down to recoil management. If you're allowing the rifle to recoil naturally in the same fashion each time, then you'll shoot consistently. Generally, resting your hand on a post will be sufficient to allow the rifle to go through it's natural recoil cycle.

Brilliant, cheers for your help.
