Goose Dog 2 Posted May 24, 2011 Report Share Posted May 24, 2011 Hi all, I am looking to treat my legacy to a set of all terrain tyres, what tyre would you recommend, the tyre needs to be ok on roads not to noisy but rugged enough off road, only looking at doing muddy tracks and fields. You need to be 101% honest with yourself and work out exactly how much off roading you will do and exactly what type of off roading. For simple muddy fields and farm tracks the Avon Ranger range of tyres are a good compromised between quality and cost. I have Avon 70 on my 4x4 based on % on road 20% off road because I only drive over stubble and down farm tracks. Insa Turbo remolds look good for the money. Money I guess is what it all comes down to, my Avons cost me £73 each fitted, just shy of £300 for all four. To my mind £300 is a lot of money for a bit of rubber, but it's that rubber that will save our lives on the road if things go wrong. I could have easily spent £700 on something fancy.
