Gaoler 83
Hello All, Can I legally shoot pigeons and Jays in my garden? The pigeons roost in a tree at the bottom of the garden and s**t all over my children's play area and my neighbors (who allows me to shoot over is boundary) The Jays come and go in my garden but are having ago at my bird box's. Any advice welcome Thanks John... Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
As long as you have a safe back stop, and are shooting on permission, and at legal quarry. . . . your good to go! (That's a yes). Quote Link to post
Karpman 44
Need to look at the general license mate and and make sure it covers your criteria, sounds like you could be ok and since you have next door on side. I avoid shooting anything in my garden not worth the bother, but everyone's situation and garden is different. Cheers Karpman. P.s ultimately the decision is yours of course. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The pigeons crapping on the kids pay equipment could be classed as endangering human health, which is definitely covered by the general licence. As long as you can say you've considered other methods (not that many except maybe removing some of the tree limbs) then shooting is legal. As for the Jays, the argument is less simple, but human health could still be used as a good reason to shoot them. 1 Quote Link to post
