pilgrim1982 0
went out sunday night lamping with my two whippets. This was my and the dogs first time lamping rabbits and they managed to catch the first rabbit they saw so i'm really happy. The older dog was slipped first and run into some timber chasing the rabbit and badly bruised the top of one of his front leg and it was my 8 1/2 month old pup that caught the rabbit in the end. I decided to call it a night shortly after as the older dog was having difficulty walking and i wanted him to take it easy. He was limping really badly, he's ok now. Managed to see some more rabbits with the lamp on the way back to the car but they were near some bushes and managed to slip into the cover. There were also alot of foxes about. I'm hoping i will take them out in a couple of weeks again and bag some more. My dad also managed to shoot 3 rabbits with the shotgun and we got one roadkill. So 5 all up. He was really surprised by the dogs as he wasn't expecting them to catch anything. It was my dads first time lamping rabbits with dogs as well. happy hunting all PS: here are some pics. First of younger dog. Second pic of both dogs. Quote Link to post
