Bored with Ratting

Had a day, or morning with some nice blokes out ratting this morning. Wasn't long before i had put a foot wrong and was chastised for watching my terriers having a little dig of their own instead of sticking with the rest of "the LADS" :kiss:

 

Well a man can only stand so much of this excitement and we made our excuses after dinner and left for a bit of a mosey round a large wood. :whistle:

 

Little black bitch shot to ground in a shallow spot and bolted a lovely Dog fox, which paused as he left his bolt hole and stared at us for what seemed ages and walked off only to be felled by a gun.

 

It was such a picture that fox i really wanted him to make it away but alas it was not to be

 

 

 

The bitch stayed in the earth working another fox and after a few minutes, using the ear to the ground method i dug her at 2 foot with a scabby looking Vixen, which was either barren or was showing no signs of cubs.

 

Thankful of some proper quarry, i let my boy go on his way with his .410, he soon filled his boots and shot a few Squirrels so he was pleased as punch and the day, which started rather miserable,overcast, dull and raining,ended in glorious sunshine with beaming smiles
