Well done!!! and you know that in time you will be able to go for a .243" but give it a couple of years with the rim fire calibres first.

Do you have deer on the land?

All you have to do now, is wait for the ticket. Well done ! (again ;) )

hi, ive got the firearms officer coming on thursday / i think am going to go with the 17hmr / also is there anything i should be asking / like magazines and silencers or can i just get them after, any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks jack

Hi Jack, this is a little bit like putting the cart before the horse but I'll give it ago.

The firearms officer is there to verify your application, your integrity, to some degree your knowledge and to a greater degree your need to own a firearm.

At this stage of your application there shouldn't be any " I think... ", you either need a .22rf [because] or a .17 HMR [because] or both [because], simple as that.

Magazines do not need certification in the UK; Sound moderators do, if used on a firearm and are governed by the same certification as the firearm for which the moderator will be used on. You also need to show good reason for owning a moderator usually health and safety due to hearing damage caused by gun shots.

I think you might need to do a bit of read before the FEO calls but I might have the wrong end of the stick and be reading something in to your post that isn't there, only you know the true level of your firearms knowledge.

In general, the FEO isn't really out to get you, more to understand why you are asking for what you have asked for. This is where I am a little concerned with your post. You don't seem to know what you want and if that is the case, how can you justify the need?

On your application, you must have put both .22rf rifle, .17HMR bolt action rifle, .22 Sound moderator and .17HMR Sound moderator and you must have put a reason for requiring these, what was your reason?

Failing everything else, make the chap a cuppa, sit back and relax!
