AlbertJ 569
Between 3 & 400 people watched the hour long display of country sports pursuits in Ards Square and afterwards a group of 70 leading country sports enthusiasts, press and politicians sat down to lunch in the Town Hall! Lots of politicians were happy to photographed with the horse & hounds etc. Great displays from the flycasters; Eddie Dash, pony & trap; the gundogs and Tony Margaret & Rex with the ferrets. Very smart turnout of the North Down Hunt and the star of the show John Carmichael flying a hawk amidst gulls, a flock of feral pigeons and even a flight of homing pigeons and giving the politicians a falconry 'masterclass'. Hour long display very ably MC'd by Philip Lawton. Got great coverage in the papers before and after the event. Terriers were well represented by Matt Lee and his father 87 years young! Billy Craig & John Humpries had two smashing lurchers and were the first to put on a Master Mc Grath Qualifiers cap - had a big job to get it back from John - told him the only way he could get one was by qualifying! Photo : Billy and John modelling the finalists caps with Jenny Mc Meekan from sponsors Redmills. All finalists for the Master Mc Grath Challenge Final at Shanes Castle will receive one of these limited edition caps produced by Wildebeest Embroidery Wildebeest Embroidery produce a wide range of embroidered products of a countrysports nature and will be on the Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine stands at the Ballywalter Game Fair.
