Alex Arrigone 24
hey. i would suggest a night shoot on targets just to get the feel of distances and the amount of reduced lights. most night shooting , in my case , makes the rabbits seem further away than they really are. getting used to low light conditions is crucial. atb alex Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
2 ways to do it mate.... The first is to do what Alex said and practice on targets using the lamp at various distances. The second really depends on what reticle you are using. You can use your mildots as a range finding device providing you know roughly the size of your target. I use this method even with the NV As an example only.... At 30m (zero range) on 10x mag the average sized adult rabbit when sitting naturally is 10-12" high This may be sized up as being 3-4 mildots high from ground level to the top of it's head. If it is more mildots then the target is closer, less then it is further away and you either need to adjust your aiming points as necessary or stalk till within zero range. It does take a bit of getting used to but is very quick and efficient once you do. Bear in mind though not all rabbits/targets are the same size and slight adjustments will have to be made to compensate but it's a step in the right direction Good luck Darryl Edited April 20, 2011 by Marksman Quote Link to post
