problems adjusting to kennels

Recommended Posts

i used to have all my dogs on chains but have had to swap to kennels because of all the complaints.

i had some big kennels made and my lurcher hates them i try keeping him tired but he still just whines and howls all day and night,i dont think spray or shock collars are the right way to go here because he genuinely hates it.

cant keep him there for much longer like this, anyone had this problem before?

Hey mate how old's your dog. It's a tough one this. If he was noisey on a chain he's just as likely noisey in kennels. How long you had the dog. Does he have something to occupy him like bones etc? Is it any better since you posted?

he was great on the chain,i cant remember hearing him ever make any noise, but thats no longer an option unfortunately.

he's got no interest in bones or chew toys,he just hates being in his kennel, ive started working nights now so i can get him more tired so he's a bit quieter but he's still unhappy when he's in there though, which is my biggest concern.

CAN HE SEE YOUR OTHER DOGS FROM HIS KENNEL THIS MIGHT BE YOUR PROBLEM AS ON CHAIN HAD EVERYTHING IN SIGHT

Id try him with his best pal of your dogs just watch them at feeding time or lower highest part of his enclosure so he can see whats happening around him
