Not sure what area of the country you are in, Im down in cornwall, Locally from the farmers, they will sell half a pig for between 60p and 75p Lb, they are good sized pigs half pig was 113Lb, even given the head for free, had to fight the dogs off to have some left for making brawn. Might be dearer up country, dont know. The local farmer is able to feed his very cheaply however as he has access to dump milk. Great proper pork though! one chop nearly took up a whole plate. At the end of the day pop into your local asda etc and see what they charge, if it is similar then you are onto a winner as non mass produced pork will always taste better, and better life for the pig. Happy eating. :D
