secretagentmole 1,701
As most of you know I have been an advocate of pumps to keep gun cylinders and buddy bottles topped up. I have now had experience of 2 pumps and I thought I would share the benefits of my experience with you all! The first pump I owned was the FX 3 stage, this came as part of the Hatsan package. It is a good pump, but it does struggle with the higher compression power needed to fill a 232 bar cylinder. Easy to use and effective. But it does have a narrow handle and can be a bit of a pain due to the narrow grip. The second pump I have tried is the one that came with the wife's Super Ten. This is a Gunpower 3 stage stirrup pump. This is a pump with a lot more oomph! It seems to build pressure up more quickly and does not struggle so much at the higher end of the pressure range. It also has thicker handles which makes filling easier. Result? We sold the FX pump and now use the Gunpower for filling up after shoots! If we have been out on the range all day setting up and target shooting we do use the bottle to fill up, but if we have been hunting when you don't shoot 100 odd shots then the pump is being used to fill up and out of the two pumps the Gunpower is the much easier one to use!
