help with pumpkins please

not a keen gardener myself but just starting to have ago,my young lad wanted to plant some seeds so i bought some pumkin,courgette and pepper seeds,the courgette and pumkins have come through and are a couple of inches high nothing in the peppers thoe,these have just been planted in little pots in a glass house im going to move them into the garden but was wondering how much room they need,also how deep they need to be

 

another question i have is can i plant any thing in mainly rotten straw and horse manure as my sister as horses and after just paying £10 for a couple of bags of compost it could get quite expensive

your seeds dont need to be to deep, inch or less, and the best manure should be rotten,plant your pumpkins and courgettes in it, they will grow.

if youve got a compost heep plant your pumkins on there as they are very greedy an thirsty plants but the stalks can climb and go on for yards and yards what name of pumpkin did you get if it one of the big breeds and you want them big only keep one or two fruits on each plant.i grow my courgettes in buckets and they seem to do well just out in the open south facing if poss . peppers once there fruiting i give mine half strenth tomatoe food once a week they only need be a couple inch deep. And befor you move them straight to your garden let them spend a few nights in the glasshouse with the door open just to make them a little hardier
