Guest Rabbiteer

I have just got my first cross.

Parents were from working stock. Dad is a 23inch Grey X Whippet, Mum is a 19inch Whip/Bed X Collie.

I am looking to use him mainly for ferreting and poss progress into lamping.

He is nine weeks old.

I really like the idea of BARF, but I am finding it really difficult to find any suppliers anywhere near Southampton. All of the local butchers are saying that they buy the meat in already cut because it saves paying to much to the "Bone man". I have spoke to some abbottoirs and they are not interested either.

Q.1 Do any of you more experianced hands know of any potential sources of BARF in the South of England.

Q.2 If not is there a dry bag that you would reccomend, that I could occassionaly mix with some fish, chicken etc.

Any help would be extremly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi Rabiteer,I am in the same position as you are,as I am picking up a pup in a few weeks.I have just been in 'Jollye's' pet shop(one of these warehouse type places similar to 'Pet City') and they had big packs of mixed BARF(veg and raw meat mixed, they also had minced green tripe, minced chicken, minced beef and diced beef, and all of these were reasonable price(I thought)£2.79 for a big bag.All you would need to do is mix the veg/fruit in. I am a bit lucky as I have a friend that is a butcher so I will be calling in some favours. :clapper:
