my saluki grey pup is now 8 month old. ive had him out mooching since four month. his speed is starting to get up now and the other day he put a big strong hare up in the back field and chased it, he was keeping up with it but obviously never turned it. what i want to know is how should i go about bringing the best out of him from this point onwards. i know its not ideal him chasing strong hares at this age so should i just keep him on his lead etc. and what should i do step by step from this point onwards and over what length of time to bring out best. cheers.

Dogs far to young as you seem to know, accidents happen.Let the pup enjoy the summer, build up its fitness and strength as it grows and matures, come the end of September start some close slips, depending on how the dog performs slip accordingly.
