When i was selling a rifle private i did the transfer. You fill in the relevant sections on the certificate of the person buying it from You if this is not a gun shop buying it.You then need to inform your firearms department of the sale.if You intend to get another rifle of the same cal or even a different cal do it on a one for one variation as long as its done within seven days its free of charge. well it is in my county but dont do what i did and leave it a month because it costs another 26 quid.i dont know of any form You need.hope this helps a little if im wrong i stand correcting. Been thinking if You mean the form You send off to let the police know You have sold or transfered a firearm or shotgun i think You can down load them off the firearms licencing section of the police website.i just write a letter and fax it.i call them a few days later to make sure they have received it.cheers

Your local police firearms department might have their own form that they like you to use, give them a ring and ask. You don't HAVE to use the form, it just helps you to make sure they've got all the information they need I suppose.

I just write a letter stating date, time, name, address and certificate number of seller/purchaser and myself, serial number, make, model and calibre, that the weapon was transferred and that I completed the relevant parts of their certificate, or vice versa. They should also write to their licencing department stating that they have sold or acquired the weapon.
