Simoman 110
Well this week I had my first experience of shooting on a proper estate. The estate was in the Lincolnshire wolds and was a little over 200 acres with plenty of cover, woods and flight ponds. We got some pheasants and pigeons and saw snipe, geese, ducks and muntjac. The biggest surprise for me was the amount of badger settes, every wood has many settes and there were even lots of one-holed settes in the middle of maize fields. Due to the number of settes I left my terrier in the car as I didn't fancy the idea of her disapearing down the holes and explaining to the keeper. I fear it will be a very long time until I get the chance again and will console myself with my cheap and cheerfull pigeon shooting, I think the guns paid £600 a day for the shooting but we had a freeby as my mate is the keeper and it was his last day.
