Guest Dale
i have a first cross deerhound x greyhound which works the lamp really well .. i have got a track greyhound from SAMBA off this site . whats the advantages of putting my dog back into a pure greyhound which would make the lurcher's 3/4 greyhound 1/4 deerhound , would it make them more usefull and agile than my first cross. so any advantages and disadvantages or just genreal comments would be handy . cheers Quote Link to post
Guest oldskool
the mating will probably throw a few smaller dogs than your half deerhound/greyhound... it will make them a bit more agile too JMO.... alot of lads i spoke to swore by the 3/4 cross... one lad in particular lives near derry and has a half deer/grey but always breeds a litter out of a grey bitch he has Quote Link to post
juckler123 707
There used to be loads of threequater greyhound deerhounds about 20 yrs ago but to be honest what ive seen a good small first cross will always have that bit extra to offer than a 3/4 bred a lot of the threequaterbreds dont have the feet ,coat and wind of the first cross never the less they will make big fast dogs well capable on all quarry Quote Link to post
