COMPO 54
I really need to take my camera back to the shop as it is flashing up "Zoom Error" so no pics of today, i went ferreting after lunch for an hour or two, i took a polecat that i got off bobnets from ..........., and the one albino jill that i hardly ever tend to use....i decided no nets, just the Baikal semi auto 12gauge and i would shoot (well shoot at) whatever bolted, suffice to say bolted more than i came home with, but i came home with 3 rabbits , which i dont think is bad for 2 hours leisurely ferreting  However the polecat did the same trick she did last time i worked her, namely flushing rabbits to the mouth of the hole and then latching onto their back end and causing the rabbits to squeal, i then go over and retrieve the rabbit from the jill who then goes back to work :nea: i really dont know what she is doing, she doesn't kill and lay up underground, she just always seems to catch hold of the rabbits as they are leaving , she did this twice today, she seems quiet consistent with this habit as she did it 2 or 3 times last outing and also the time before :dntknw: the usual pattern is that you see a rabbits head near a hole and it moves backwards and forwards, you walk over and the rabbit is pulling out and the ferret is holding it and gently pulling it backwards! I have had different style ferrets, guaranteed bolters and guaranteed homicidal murderers, but never a ferret that brings the rabbits to the mouth of the hole and waits for you to take it???? anyway waiting for my tea and after i have eaten i will skin the rabbits, mince the meat and freeze the mince for burgers etc..later Quote Link to post
