sako 23
Good choice! You'll be able to see a lot further than you'll be able to shoot anyway. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
i personally don't like fixed mag, as i like the ability to zoom into distant targets, great clarity though, and build quality. Snap. Quote Link to post
kbtfowler 2
250 yards easy on crows if you have a good lean Quote Link to post
danebrewer10 6
depends on how big your target is! on pretty much all quarry, as far as you can responsibly shoot would be my answer, I quite like fixed mag scopes as there's no faffing with mag, and they're much cheaper than the vari-mag scopes for the same superior build quality and light transmission of european optics Quote Link to post
HUnter_zero 58
hi all just wondered what sort of ranges people shoot out to with these scopes I have one on my .243". Cracking scope and as always fixed mags IMHO are so much more dependable and of course make range finding second nature. The scopes were designed for low light hunting situations, as such the reticule cross hairs are a little thicker than on a target scope for example. Mine certainly takes up near 1MOA at 100 yards, which is exactly what the reticule is meant to do. So at 300 yards, almost 3" will be obliterated at the centre of the cross, so to speak. No an issue if you are using the scope for the purpose it was design for, but a big issue if your target shooting at 500 yards with a custom rifle. Bottom line is that the scope will never let you down and will grasp every bit of available light, which is why you pay your bucks for them! As an after thought, I have a 6x42 S&B of German origin on my .308, the reticule thickness is just slightly thinner but yet another cracking scope for the money.
