dabigmc 23
Well all you fellow pike fishermen! Came across a new form of pike wire, its called "AUTHANIC WIRE" made by iron claw! Google it and see what you think! I purchased a spool, tied up a few traces and road tested it myself, seems to be the ticket! Had a good successful day and between me and the mate banked over 30lbs of pike....thats accumlativley, not just one fish, before someone pounces on me demanding photos of the monster, lol! Main drawback is its £12.99 a spool, but i reckon in the long run it will save me money cus it dosnt suffer from kinks or frays, plus there no need for crimps or sleeves! Anyway, maybe people out there have been using this wire already, so wat do you reckon? Quote Link to post

mudd dog 128
yeah got a look at it there. it just looks like braid to me. might do the job might not. if it withstands the strain and teeth of a pike i'd be inclined to invest in it myself. it's very light unlike other wire traces and therefore would leave less feeling or hinderance on the take. my only issue is i cut it very easy with a pair of scissors, 1st go. aren't a pikes teeth sharper than a pair of scissors thats my only worry mate i'd like to hear from someone thats tried and tested it first, to be honest. Plong 21
Avoid the stuff is sold under various names by different company's and a big pike will bite through it. Used some for zander and eel fishing stopped using it when after netting a good eel when to unhook and it snapped like cotton in my hand. Now use Kryston quick silver for eels and 49 strand for zander + pike. Quote Link to post
