Ratting Allotment and Farm

Recommended Posts

I posted earlier in the week about starting ratting but got no replies so trying again.

I got a 3 year old jack russel bitch today. I mainly got her for bushing and working alongside the lurchers. She has done a bit of ratting before so knows what the crack is.

I have got permission on an allotment with chicken sheds and a farm with loads of out buildings.

Will I need a smoker or will just lifting up rubble and sheets of plastic etc be enough to start with? Obviously wear big gloves etc goes without saying but any tips for someone new to ratting will be appreciated.

Dont think you need too much advise mate, if you havent got a smoker and your just starting out ratting then "just lifting up rubble and sheets of plastic etc" will be enough to get you and your dog started... you should still get a fare amount by just doing that around "chicken sheds and a farm with loads of out buildings" :good:

All the best!
