medic1281 5
My girlfriend wants to come shooting clays with me but she finds the 12 o/u a bit heavy and harsh with the kick. I've been toying with the idea of getting a good semi auto for myself but also for my girlfriend to use. Am I correct in thinking that with the inertia system then the recoil is significantly reduced? What semi auto's would you recommend? Thanks Phil Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Yes, the semi will give far less recoil. I've heard good things about the Hatsan Escort, though obviously if you have more money to spend then the big names (Beretta etc.) will always offer good value for money. I love the dog in your pic by the way, what make is he? Quote Link to post
kingnewport 19
Nothing like an old skool bretta a303 I've had a escort and it was all right, nothing special really. It's a marmite gun. If you can afford it go with the big names Edited February 18, 2011 by kingnewport Quote Link to post
medic1281 5
Cheers Matt, my dog is from a rescue centre, not sure on exact breeding but it's thought she is boxer x bull mastiff with possibly a bit of great Dane! It's a guessing game really though! Are you having much luck with the rifle range? ATB Phil Quote Link to post

mjr88 50
Hi medic1281 A few months ago i bought my first autoloader and i opted for the Winchester SX3 Composite 12g. As i dont do clay pigeon i got the larger 31/2''chambered version rather than the 3'' model. So far the gun has not let me down once and the recoil is totally non existent. The loads i am using at present are RIO'S number 6's 70mm carts. As already stated , if you want the gun mainly for clay pigeon then go for the 3'' chambered version as this model will handle the lighter loads. The SX3 is also reputed to be the fastest semi auto in the world and there are a few links on the Tube that will show you this ( see link below ) Whatever you choose i hope you enjoy the gun , John Quote Link to post
medic1281 5
Thanks John. Very helpful post. I do like winchesters as a rule so will definately be looking into the sx3! ATB Phil Quote Link to post
