Scope creep

I have just fitted a leapers 3-9x40 scope to my theoben sirocco. I Hand tightened the mount screws then tweaked them up with an Allen key. I fired five shots to zero the scope and it crept back about 10mm!!! The screws seem pretty tight and I am concerned that if I overdo them I will damage the tube. Any ideas for stopping the creep?

A bit of tin foil folded over a few times at the front and end mount? It should make it tighter, and won't alter the height of the scope much. Try that, if it doesn't work we'll think of something else

good quolaty electrical tape, cut little strips to fit...clamp onto it.

HI Dai why not try a 20mm or so cut from a plastic pop bottle which forms a shim around the tube of the scope, give it a go and happy hunting DARREN

Sounds to me like you need to make sure the scope is sat correctly and tighten the allen bolts a bit more. You won't damage the tube.

use the little end of the alen key on the scope tube.
