Rat Problem at work

Recommended Posts

hi all, i brought 2 live rat traps about a year ago ish, no idea why just did lol,

well i think its time to use these, as we seem to have a rat problem at work, just some advice needed really as i never used or done this before,

whats best bait to use

do i need to camo up the fixed wall,s and only leave the opening free or will the rat find a way in.

best "humain" way to dispose of

thanks in advance,

where are the rats? do you know what their main food source is? for example most of our rats are around the chicken shed, so i would bait with chicken feed as they are already eating it, if your not sure then i would recommend snickers bar or peanut butter as they go crazy for both.

as for camo, rats are brave little buggers and will explore most things if they smell food. i never feel the need to camo mine. and the only reason i would hide mine is if non targeted spices could get in, such as birds. (with the trap being outside)

hope this helps and good luck.

Place the traps, bait them as above them leave them, as our soft southern rats have a fear of new objects in their patch.

One way to over come this is to move everything around in the area you place the traps, that way its all new.

As for dispatch an air rifle or good air pistol will be most hummane.

thanks for that guys, we deploy the traps tomorrow, wont have to move much as stuff gets moved around the work shop every day about 5 times so will just lay a few at each end,

and as for food sorce the just live on the was in the bins not that there should be any left in there.
