taurasmark 10
Does anyone know what determines a HID lamps start up time, is it the ballast or the bulb? My lamp currently take 8 seconds to achieve full brightness from cold Quote Link to post

taurasmark 10
8 seconds!!!!!! Jeez, thats as much use during lamping as an ashtray on a motorbike!!! Haha, I've got a walk around though, I hold the bulb end into my jacket prior to releasing the power...the more use it gets, the better it fire's! I was thinking of buying an Osram or Philips bulb for it but as you know I wanted to find out what determines the firing time before I forked out my hard earned cash. Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Sorry can't help but with regards to bulbs, osram everytime Quote Link to post
taurasmark 10
Sorry can't help but with regards to bulbs, osram everytime I'm on avid Osram fan myself...I have a 12v lead Homebase torch with a Xenon bulb added to it, GREAT! but it only lasts about 30 mins. I also have a High powered LED "what a waste of money that was".... Next on the agenda, prior to saving enough cash to purchase a proper HID hunting lamp is to add a car HID conversion to the Homebase beast Feed the kids before purchasing any more lamps aye?
