Yokel Matt 918
Anyone finding any difficulties on the ammo feed on this action? For some reason when feeding a round from the magazine into the breech the round occasionally seems to catch on a lip just under the breech. The magazine is brand new and seats well and the rifle, although second hand, hasn't had more than a box or two through it from the previous owner (He cracked the stock slightly trying to fit sling studs and chopped it in for another new one. ) Any ideas guys? It only happens occasionally and mainly on the first round from the mag. Thanks Quote Link to post
Guest Macnas
I'd love to own one of those rifles mate, but I don't so I can't help. Well, maybe I could put my tuppence worth in it anyway. Does it happen with just one brand of ammo or anything you put into it? If not the ammo, it could just be the way the mag is seating, and maybe nothing but a bit of wear will solve it. Some CZ's are like that, refuse to feed consistantly until 500 rnds have been through 'em. Nice rifle all the same. Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
Which action is it, the match 54 or the match 64? where is the safety catch, and whats it look like? Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Cheers lads. Its been happening with CCi gamepoints, TNT and Federal V-Max... it could just need a bit of breaking in as you say but i'm hoping its not something more sinister. This is the action but i'll take a pic of the breech tonight to highlight the sticking point thanks again Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
Thats a match 64 action, and reknowned for this problem, but usually in .22. Mine did the same, but as it was new, i sent it back to frank dyke,s [the importers] and they fixed it.It is basically, the feed ramp for the magazine is out of alignment, and needs a tweak, or the rear mag post, i,m not sure which, as i havent done the job, but its not difficult, as there is meant to be adjustment there, for when the rifle has fired a lot of shots, and needs tightening up again. However, a lot do it from new.Whip the stock off and take a pic, then we should be able to see the problem. Quote Link to post

Baldie, if I sent it up to SSS would you or Roger know how to fix the problem? I don't have a lot of faith in the place down here. Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
Give him a ring buddy, i know he,s done this job in the past. Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Result! ... Just spoke to Frank Dyke(the importer [via Roger @ SSS]) and he said is is all to do with the magazine itself. The small lip between the breech and the bullet ramp (which i thought was the issue) allows the rim or the cartridge to sit flush against the breech. :stupid: The magazine is where the issue lies . The two small crimps that retain the round and prevent it from popping out were too close together. Although we're only talking about a fraction of an inch, its enough to hold the round slightly lower in the magazine and, if using a flatter tipped round like the TNT or 20gr's its enough to catch on the breech lip and prevent the feed. A technical adjustment with a flat tipped screwdriver and a bit of ignorance has cycling like Lance Armstrong. Quote Link to post
