fishfish 17
just started home-schooling my kids, boy is it easier than using a regular crap school! i was wondering if any here do the same or have done? things are a lot easier and we can combine rural passtimes into lessons, thursday we went collecting staves for making walking sticks, this was a natural history lesson,i was supprised by the number of plants, trees ,bird and stuff they had learned from us,luckily near us a hedge is being laid, sadly the layers just burn the wood they cut out, some of which is very nice looking stick making wood. along the way we managed 2 catty forks aswell. heres some pics: the scenery: back home and some wood working lessons: and then a write up for their school books:

fishfish 17
just a point do you need to have qualifications or permission from the education board? apparently not,you dont need to adhere to a set curriculum,a county chap will pop in once a year to see whats going on and just check they are getting an education,we are saving a bout £50 a week on petrol alone and the kids are much happier. there's no having to set the day round the school ,no rushing back from shopping etc to pick them up.it all came about due to the council not supplying school transport as our kids werent known to the authorities! had they been little sods and us parents druggies or asbo brigade the county would have helped! go figure! still its done us a favour. When the kids are old enough we would have to pay for their gcse's ,but in all honesty all the qualifications in the world dont help get a job,1 in 5 under 25 year olds are unemployed at the moment and 2 out of 5 have uni qualifications.i run a small business and when i am looking to hire i want someone i can get on with and who is hands on ,ive met blokes with university degrees that are useless!
