i have used my mates and they are very fun reliable little pistols. great for plinking, but would say the range is limited to about 10 yrds at the most for any real accuracy. i would recommend investing in a red dot scope as you can really make the most of the fast firing ability with these. yes they are legal (as long as they're under 6ftibs which they come no wehre near!) but why would you buy something without knowing wether or not it was legal?

Hey there,

THL resident Pistoleer here :whistling:

The CP99 is superb (especially if you fit it with match adjustable sights). It was my 1st GPP and for IPAS and Police Pistol shooting in my hands it was deadly. Bit of a controversial subject now.

They are NO USE FOR HUNTING. However they can and indeed will despatch a small trapped animal (Rabbit, squirrel, rat or bird) in a cage where you can put the muzzle withing a few inches of the brain.

For any GPP / Air or Co2 pistol information you need to go here http://www.umarexboysclub.co.uk

I'll approve your membership once I have caught up one here and approved the pending memberships to the UBC Forum.

Please don't try shooting at any live quarry with this pistol because A if your shooting double action the CP99 has a hell of a heavy trigger pull and your likely to hit the person stood next to you and B even on single action, its a hard trigger

As has been mentioned previously the Umarex Pistols sold in this country are very limited in the output at the muzzle, My own was producing almost 2.0 ft/lbs and accuracy past 15 yards (feck there I go imperial again  ) was totally unacceptable.

Regarding their legality, yes as long as you are not a Prohibited Person or under age, they are fine.

They used to be only available as FAC 10 years ago, but when the legislators decided to ban handguns in the UK, they had to make a compromise to the shooters and as such brought the GPP's off ticket.

Anything else I can help you with just holler ;)

Right, gotta vanish for half hour!
