doctor dolittle 1
I read with great interest regarding the topic concerning a certain book that Bert Gripton supposed to have to wrote. Well if he did I would certainly have liked to have read a copy! The simple truth being is that Bert never wrote any such Book. I myself does have a large and particular interesting collection of sporting books including Big Gamehunting,Fox-hunting titles, many books on working Terriers and dog books also. But unfortunately I haven't any material by Bert Gripton....However, Bert did write certain snippets and replied to many other peoples articles and scribblings on the subject of working Terriers over the years. I do know for sure that Bert has been featured about so many times before in books, magazines and many years ago now in the popular Shooting times magazine.I have certain photographs in my possession of 2 friends of mine who are pictured together with their extremely close friend Bert Gripton. My friends are Twin brothers and still have Berts breeding to this day and knew Bert very well, one of the Twins, David also has a sizable collection of photos of Bert and his Terriers many years ago..... I know right until Berts death that the 'TWINS' and Mr Chris Leadbeater where there for Bert right until the end.....Also where was everyone when Bert had died and there wasn't any money for an headstone? Bert was a one off, an extremely colourful character and helped many people throughout his wonderful life and Hunting career...... Best wishes. Doctor Dolittle..... Quote Link to post
