Guest MOLLY
Thanks loads Simo & JOE. The thing is, these ones are also 'supposed' to be very good clippers, cost more than the Osters. It took me nearly an hour last night to clip one terrier I can do 3 with the old Wahls in less than that time normally. Thought if there were any prof groomers or anyone who knew any to see what they use. MOLL.
Meerihunter 7
Hi Molly I have two sets of Laube Lazors from America which are really great but expensive, and need servicing regularly. They are faster and lighter than Osters. I also have a couple of Osters and to be honest you cant go wrong with them. At the moment I am doing between 4 to 7 dogs a day with the Osters and find them really reliable. They have been on the market longer than any and all the new clippers are based on them. Printer 34
Probably nothing wrong with the clippers, maybe you just need a different blade from the one(s) supplied. Allbrooks in Wakefield are helpfull, and they have a web page. I used to use clippers (Osters) with a skip tooth blade and I couldn't fault them, but they did ruin the dogs coats, I find the coats are better just using scissors. MIKE 18
Don't use clippers is the best advice ..................use proper coat stripping knives this will keep the coat in better condition as you are pulling the old dead hair out rather than cutting it off.It is more time comsuming but your dog will have a healthier more even coat if maintained this way

The stripable terrier gets stripped, but thanks for the advice Thank you very much everyone, ill look into the ones recommended MOLL.
Dawn B 212
I do dog clipping Moll, I use Oster golden A5 clippers. They cost about £120 but are excellent, the blades are around £20 each. For your dog, I would recommend a number 7 blade for the body and number 10 for the head and ears. http://www.allbrooks.co.uk/acatalog/Online...lippers_12.html http://www.allbrooks.co.uk/acatalog/Online..._Combes_26.html Dawn. lakeman 12
clippers...................(aaaaaahhhhhhh!) use fingers and thumbs ( if it's for a terrier..)
Guest MOLLY
clippers...................(aaaaaahhhhhhh!) use fingers and thumbs ( if it's for a terrier..) Yep its for terriers, but i dont think they would appretiate having their hair pulled out by the roots Dawn, the A5 are mentioned a few times...think ill go for them. The ones sis bought me are Moser Arco (made by Wahl) same price as the Oster A5. Think she is phoning up on Monday to complain, perhaps she can do a straight swop?. My poor dogs get a Wahl number 1 (the shortest) for the body and a number 2 for the head, down to the bone so its a while before they get done again...and less of the mud and rat crap gets brought home MOLL.
