ghillies 209
without a speedolite, as in some other less flash you'll find below f/4 you'll get blown out white...unless you can turn the flash down, or posision the flash further away.. gets you distance though, as long as there's nohing between you and the subject to catch and blaire out. the jessops flash wont sink in the TTL-11, only TTL, and doesnt have enough about it to set low enough for wider end of the 50mm f/1.8... workable though.(the speedolites do acording to the read ups). sencer crop maths is easy, if its a crop factor of 1.6, its 50mm x 1.6 = 80mm (less or plus the manufacture tolerence of a couple persent). if you want to know what to get e.g. you want the equivelent 50mm, its 50mm divided by 1.6 = 31.25 so a 30mm lens.(or zoom covering that range..). Bush Rummager 4,769
Thanks for the replys folks.. Coyotehunter, had a look at the 24-70 2.8 and does look a cracking bit of kit, like you say, versatile too, but as Muttle mentions, at about £900.. its a tad more than what i'm wanting to part with at this time of year.. suppose i could always tell the kids santa has, errr,... died.. I think the on board flash should be fine for what i'm after.. would i have to adjust the strength of the flash depending on the distance of the subject? could prove to be a pain in the butt! shame you can't bounce it eh! I'm still ( and my wallet is ) liking the idea of a nice little prime... looking at ghillies maths , , i'm leaning towards sigmas 30mm 1.4, bit over £300... gives me the option to shoot with or without the flash? sounds like you've got to get a good copy though..
