ReggieCuz 18
Hi guys, loving the lurchers on these boards. Thought I'd show you the last pack I worked with in Australia. I hunted them on pigs, rabbits, foxes and goats. (hope I can get these pics up) Here's Maggie, She's a pure greyhound crossed with a 3/8 english bull terrier 5/8 greyhound. Great all rounder. ReggieCuz 18
Here's Cuz. He's a Jeep pitbull dam crossed with a doberman sire. First cross. I got him as a guard dog to start with, and he was a bloody good guard dog. Nobody could jump my fence when he was on duty. Stood 24 tts, weighed 38 kilos working weight. He also turned out to be a bloody good pig dog. Quote Link to post
ReggieCuz 18
Here's Doris. She is a pure labrador (working blood) over a Fila Braziliano from working stock. Lovely natured dog, very heavy but surprisingly agile. Weighed about 40 kilos She was just getting started as a hunter, but she could find and hold decent pigs once she got her courage up. Great nose on her and she would have made an excellent dog had I not relocated to England. Quote Link to post
ReggieCuz 18
I also ran a Ridgeback/English Bull Terrier but I can't find a pic of him yet. Quote Link to post
ReggieCuz 18
Cheers, mate. Yep I had loads of fun hunting in Oz. Plenty of feral game, lots of excitement, lots of danger, magnificent scenery and weather. My greyhound cross bitch above, Maggie, was best used in cooler weather. She had potential to over heat and she didn't have the stamina of my other dogs, but she could run like the wind and could hold a pig on her own. She retired at 7 years and spent the next 6 years chilling on my loungeroom floor. Laziest dog ever, when she wasn't hunting ;-) Quote Link to post

ReggieCuz 18
Hi Tomo, I was in Perth, western australia. There are forest pigs in the south west of the state. Loads of foxes and rabbits just outside of Perth and loads of goats north of Perth. I travelled some big distances on hunts with mates. Always a good laugh and a great way to stock the freezer. I'll try and find some pics of the hunts I did. I did take some over the years but usually you're too involved in the hunt to remember the camera. I've got loads of pics of the dogs I have used over the years though. They're on a different computer though so I'll have to burn them on disc and transfer them to this one. Quote Link to post
ReggieCuz 18
Hey Captain Jack. Yeah, he was one hell of a guard dog. In fact he was dangerous to be around if he didn't know you. Even my brother, a good dog man, used to say to me ''That f*****g thing is a loaded gun, he's gonna kill someone one day'' Lucky I knew that so when I had visitors I'd keep him away and always had him on a lead and muzzled in public. He was fine with other dogs though. Quote Link to post

ReggieCuz 18
I moved out here to the UK cos my missus is an English woman and she was nagging to go back home for a while. I have loads of family here too. I emigrated to Oz when I was about 10. I've been back and forth between here and Oz loads of times, mainly for 4 weeks at a time. I love England though, but it's a little over crowded at the moment I reckon. I'll probably talk her into going back to Oz in about 6 or 7 years. I'm in no hurry although I do miss the hunting. There are rabbits and foxes galore at Gidgegannup, about 90kms from Perth. Lots of open country too. Quote Link to post

ReggieCuz 18
Gidgegannup is north east of Perth. Yep, I have dual citizenship, it's great. Maybe I'll get sick of the UK soon, but I doubt it. Been here for nearly 2 years now and am loving it. There are loads of poms emigrating to Oz at the moment. I lived on a street with 4 recently emigrated families, good blokes every one of 'em. Might have to get a lurcher and do some hunting while I'm here. I need a dog of some sort, even if I don't get out much on the hunt. Quote Link to post
