Alli 923 Posted October 31, 2010 Report Share Posted October 31, 2010 has anyone got any advice. i work russells, last year one of them suffered from realy bad split feet pads in the in the winter, i kept his pen extra clean, as the pea n stuff was my my mane concern. but every time i worked him thay split n he was lame most of the winter. just wondering if theres anything i could use to harden his feet before this winter starts. ady-b 94 Posted November 1, 2010 Report Share Posted November 1, 2010 Salt on the roads and pavements can cause havoc with a dogs pads as the salt has a drying effect, try washing the pads after every walk during the winter and you could try applying petroleum jelly to act as a barrier against the effects of salt ,ice and snow 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
